Our Philosophy
Our mission in our program is to provide a nurturing, safe and secure environment for children to learn through play. The environment is open and flexible, allowing for playful exploration, problem solving and creativity. Our program will provide a responsive environment where all aspects of the child’s well-being is considered.
The environment is our third teacher, and exploring nature is encouraged through outdoors play with a variety of materials. Materials and equipment are set out to encourage exploration and consideration is given to the children’s strengths, interests and desires.
Educators will co-construct, co-research and be co-imaginers of possibilities, creating an environment of responsive care. Educators will have positive and beneficial interactions where the children are given a sense of being cared for and cared about.
Through involvement in our community, we are building a place of vitality. We feel that community members and families play a strong role in our environment and involvement within the center.
As mighty learners and citizens of our community, children have the opportunity to explore and create a love of learning that we hope will follow them throughout their lives.
Meet The Founders
Hello, my name is Ashley, I have been a resident of Ardrossan since I was in my early teens, having graduated from Ardrossan High School. I obtained my Level 3 Early Childhood Education and operated a licenced day home in Ardrossan for over 8 years. Through this experience it was made clear that our community is lacking childcare options.
Ardrossan is my home and my community and we have the highest expectations for the type of childcare program we provide. We are thrilled for this opportunity and look forward to getting to know the people of Ardrossan.
Hello, my name is Wacey. My family and I have called Ardrossan home for the past 5 years. Our children attend the local elementary school, and we have grown to love the community of Ardrossan.
Through my career I worked at a variety of daycare centres, and after obtaining my Level 3 early childhood I went on to open a licenced day home.
I enjoy volunteering and have been involved with girl guides canada for over 14 years. I and am currently a girl guides team leader. Through my involvement with girl guides, I have received the Canada Cord Award.
Having an indigenous background I enjoy exploring other cultures, and look forward to incorporating more into our daycare programming.
